AN intimate dining experience at Christopher’s, located on the same property as Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, will reignite any lover’s flame.
The perfect date night restaurant allows diners to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner under a gazebo overlooking the pearly, white-sand beach. But for those yearning for exclusivity Christopher’s recognises your needs, operations manager of the property, Klent Elson tells the Jamaica Observer’s LetsTravelCaribbean.com.
“We have three ways in which we do our dinner. You can dine on the wraparound balcony overlooking the beach, you can dine out on the gazebos in the water, or on the beach itself. So, we give our diners three options to choose from. But of course, dining on the beach or in the gazebo come with a service charge for the set-up,” Elson explains.
“For dining on the beach, it is US$50 and under the gazebo is US$30. Dining on the balcony is no additional charge,” the operations manager adds.
The aesthetic appeal and experience provided at Christopher’s is “deliberate”, Elson says.
“For our evening experience the lights are low to create that ambiance, and of course we always have some soft music playing in the background for a very relaxing feel. The wind comes in from the ocean so it provides a very calming and cool atmosphere, which is really what the property is about,” he tells LetsTravelCaribbean.com.
“Everything about this property is deliberate, from the aesthetic to the music played,” he adds.
“We do take outside guests, apart from the people staying at the resort. Once they make a reservation they can come in for the experience. We do ask that they call 876-974-3699 at least a day in advance to make a reservation. Dinner starts at 3:00 pm and goes up to 7:00 pm for diners who aren’t staying on property,” the operations manager says.
Christopher’s server Rosheil Ramsay tells LetsTravelCaribbean.com that the Backyard BBQ Ribs and the Seafood Trio are dinner favourites among the regular patrons.

“A lot of people go for our Penne Pasta as well,” Elson chimes in.
Sharing a dessert with your partner under the moonlight is also a given. The home-made ice cream will leave you licking your lips or your beau’s lips, whichever you choose; the delicious butter bread pudding will have you calling for a second serving.
Overall, the food being served at Christopher’s is well worth the journey to Ocho Rios, from any part of the island. However, what makes the experience even better is that the 10-year-old restaurant is home to a very welcoming staff always ready to give couples a premium date night experience.
