SIGHTSEEING across Jamaica can look a little different this summer with a guided motorbike excursion from the Spice Joy Ride Motorcycle Rentals and Tours in Salem, St Ann.

Owned and operated by Jedaiah Holloway, the Spice Joy Ride experience gives adventurers a new and exciting way to visit local spots of their choice on a 400cc or 500cc motorcycle. With a host of attractions and eateries to choose from across St Ann and surrounding areas, the bike tour promises to be fulfilling for anyone who grabs a helmet and heads off the beaten path.

“We ask the customers what it is that they want to see when they take our tour. Some of our favourite locations are Blue Hole, Old Spanish Bridge [and] Nine Mile,” Holloway tells the Jamaica Observer’s LetsTravelCaribbean.com.

There are three different packages to choose from, all tailored to the needs of their customers. Holloway says she offers a “two-hour tour, a four-hour tour, and an all-day VIP tour that culminates at a private beach club”.

Acknowledging that she provides a unique way of seeing Jamaica’s pristine waters and hilly terrain, Holloway says Spice Joy Ride Motorcycle Rentals and Tours was born out of her love for motorcycles.

“I am a part of a women’s motorcycle club. We would come here for vacations and want to ride motorcycles, but no one had motorcycles and my thought was, ‘There has got to be a lot of motorcyclists that come to Jamaica who would love to ride motorcycles and see the island from a different perspective.’ So because it wasn’t offered, I thought it should be offered and I took that opportunity to bring it to Jamaica,” she says.

She adds that since opening their doors five years ago the motorcycle tour company has been going strong ever since.

The safety of every adventurer is paramount at Spice Joy, and they require each customer to hold a motorcycle licence and know how to operate a bike.
