Jamaica has been named the World’s Leading Family Destination and World’s Leading Wedding Destination at the 2022 World Travel Awards. The international recognition took place at the Gala ceremony at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Muscat, Oman.
“These awards are a testament to Jamaica’s world-class tourism product,” said Minister of Tourism for Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett of the November 11 win. “We are very grateful to be recognised for continuing to provide an outstanding experience for visitors as tourism is rebounding. On behalf of all those working in our island’s tourism sector, I would like to thank the travel professionals, media, and consumers worldwide who voted for us and contributed to our success again this year.”
In affiliated awards for 2022, Jamaica was also named the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board 2022 for the 14th year in a row, the Caribbean’s Leading Destination 2022 for the 16th year in a row, and the Caribbean’s Leading Nature Destination 2022 in the World Travel Awards – Caribbean.
“It is wonderful to earn this pair of prestigious distinctions again in 2022. We sincerely value our visitors and travel industry partners in Jamaica, so receiving these honours by their vote is a clear indication that our work is both noted and sincerely appreciated,” added Director of Tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board Donovan White.

This year’s World Travel Awards marked a return to an in-person event with a traditional awards ceremony showcasing the best of the world’s travel and tourism sector.
