Belize’s contagious, warm hospitality, stunning natural beauty, and cultural richness have earned the country international recognition as one of the friendliest nations in the world. This outstanding recognition of the Jewel was announced in the Condé Nast 2022 Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards.
In announcing the award, Condé Nast noted that Belize’s diverse people, cultures, adventures and landscapes, snorkelling, Barrier Reef, hiking at the Bocawina National park and cassava bread baking in Hopkins Village were among the many distinct features that make the country so unique and worthy of such international recognition.
In addition to recognising Belize as one of the friendliest countries in the world, Condé Nast ranked it the #32 Top Country in the World. It also ranked Ambergris Caye as the #4 Top Island in Central and South America. Furthermore, in the Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice magazine’s Top 10 Resorts in Central America category, Matachica Resort & Spa ranked #6, Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort ranked #7 and Turneffe Island Resort ranked #10.
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) expressed pride in the country’s accomplishments and congratulated the top-ranking Belizean resorts for their outstanding work. The BTB also reiterated its commitment to continue promoting and marketing Belize as a premier tourism destination.
