A water arch salute as their B787 Dreamliner airplane taxied along the runway; a Mento Band providing island rhythm – it was all part of the welcome rolled out for the 271 passengers and 10 crew members on TUI UK’s flight to Montego Bay on July 22.

The salute was courtesy of MBJ Airports Limited’s Emergency Response Service team, while senior MBJ representatives and the Jamaica Tourist Board were on hand to give a warm welcome to their guests.
This was the airline company’s first flight to the tourist city since the novel coronavirus pandemic-forced hiatus. It’s part of its summer schedule that will see six flights per week from the UK to Jamaica (see related story).

MBJ Airports Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Shane Munroe is thrilled with the resumption. “TUI UK’s flights to tropical destinations have always been popular, and their summer schedule is a welcome addition to our recently resumed London services. We continue to welcome our UK travelers safely and seamlessly to the beautiful island of Jamaica,” he said.
