US-based Frontier Airlines has joined Delta as the only airlines offering direct flights from Atlanta to Montego Bay.  Sangster International Airport (SIA) welcomed Frontiers’ inaugural flight from Atlanta, Georgia, to Montego Bay on November 1.

After a two-and-a-half-hour flight, the Airbus A320 touched down with 49 passengers on board, including crew members.

“This is great for passengers. Competition is what drives the business and so it is all about getting the best value for money for persons coming to Montego Bay and Jamaica as well as for travelling in general,” said Sharon Hislop-Holt, Manager of Commercial Development and Marketing at MBJ Limited which operates (SIA).

She lauded Frontier Airlines for answering the call, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, to launch new flight routes and services. The first one, Miami, came shortly after Jamaica reopened its borders. One day after the inaugural Atlanta flight, another route will be added.
