Now being celebrated until October 1, Tourism Awareness Week (TAW) 2022 got underway with representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, its public bodies and the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) gathering to give thanks for the industry and its contribution to the economic well-being of Jamaica and its citizens.
The service of thanksgiving to kick-start TAW was held at the Montego Bay New Testament Church of God on Sunday, September 25. The week is being observed under the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) theme for World Tourism Day (September 27) — ‘Rethinking Tourism.’
Here are scenes from the church service:

At right: Saxophonist Daniel-John Jackson, IT Technician at the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo), woos the congregation with a beautiful rendition of “Still I Rise”.
