British Virgin Islands (BVI) Director of Tourism Clive McCoy says the Caribbean destination is gearing up for its 10th staging of the Anegada Lobster Festival.

We are looking forward to having many guests come in for the festival which we anticipate is going to be a big deal for the BVI,” McCoy said during a virtual destination media briefing hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) on Tuesday.

“It is in November, which is the kick-off of the peak season, so we are going to put a lot of work into that,” the tourism director added.

The Anegada Lobster Festival, according to the BVI’s official tourism website, “is the most delicious adventure in the Caribbean” as the talents honed by local chefs shine through their juicy, well-prepared meals.

One of the many ways the seafood is prepared at the Anegada Lobster Festival.

With a host of native lobster dishes being served, the two-day event is also dubbed the “largest islandwide event on Anegada and a flagship event for both BVI Food Fete and the BVI’s tourism product”.

“Designed as a scavenger hunt, it is a gastronomic event on the BVI’s second-largest island of Anegada where residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the island to sample the best, freshly caught spiny lobster flavours and decadent dishes over two days,” the website shared.

“People love to go just to be able to pick which lobster they want, and have it put on the grill right in front of them,” McCoy said.
