The resumption of flights to St Lucia has seen the island’s tourism sector rebounding with 90 per cent of their summer 2021 visitors travelling on the new non-stop flights from North America.
The new flights were introduced by major airlines including American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, and United Airlines. They cover most major US cities including New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas. This has given a much-needed boost to the eastern Caribbean island which has had travel restrictions in place for months.
Having recently welcomed back flights from the United Kingdom. St Lucia now has three flights a week coming from the UK and is looking to increase this to six per week by October.
The destination will also see the return of the Canadian market with flights slated to begin in October and November. There will be weekly Sunday flights via Air Canada beginning in October and WestJet returns to the island on November 7.
