THINK sunny afternoon or breathtaking night-time cruises along the picturesque Negril coast, mixed with a party experience including signature cocktails, party host, DJs and on-board dance team. That’s the experience from Jamaica Tiki Party Charters.

The flagship, 50-foot custom tiki boat, Fantasy Island, was built in Jamaica and two cruises are offered daily. There is a three-hour day cruise along Negril’s famous seven-mile beach. It also includes stops at Bloody Bay or Rick’s Café, an open bar, and jump-off mid cruise for partying on deck or in the water. When the stars come out they offer the only night cruise in Negril — it’s dubbed the Floating Nightclub.

Owner of Jamaica Tiki Party Charters, Tara Richardson explained that the cruise was a way of showcasing some of Jamaica’s culture while enjoying a fun-filled excursion.

“We want our patrons to leave with a lasting impression of Jamaica. Even though the tour is three hours long, we managed to encapsulate the Jamaican culture in a memorable way. You get the music, entertainment, dance, and great Jamaican hospitality from our staff. It’s not the normal type of attraction; you get to experience a different side of Jamaica. You still get the stunning views of the cliffs, caves and coastline, but from a different angle. Sailing is just an awesome experience on its own, mixed in with the Jamaican elements — it couldn’t get any better than that,” she said.

A little shy of a year old, Jamaica Tiki Party Charters is having a good run, according to Richardson.

“We officially launched in October 2021 and the feedback has been awesome. Additionally, we offer private charters for weddings, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, private parties (including bachelor and bachelorette parties). We can also add snorkelling and stopping at Rick’s Cafe to the cruise as well,” she added.

She admits the space is competitive but firmly believes the cruise has some special touches that will continue to make it stand out.

“We pack in all the fun and the Jamaican party experience in that cruise. That way you have to leave with a memorable experience that you feel compelled to share with your friends and mark as a high point during your stay in Negril. Our boat is custom-built to reflect the look of a tiki bar — we have carvings, interactive spaces on-board, and a dynamic, energetic team that teaches the latest dances. I get on-board as well and join in the fun as it is that good!” said Richardson.
