Known for its large conference rooms in a city bustling with business tourism, it’s no surprise that 80 per cent of guests at Kingston’s Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel fall into the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) niche of the tourism market.
“Terra Nova offers an exclusive and premium venue offering like no other in the Kingston area,” says the hotel’s marketing and customer experience manager, Sian Graham-Connolly.
There are six meeting rooms from which to choose the perfect venue.
“We offer seating from four to 120 [clients] for conferences,” Graham-Connolly tells LetsTravelCaribbean.com.
Spaces can be arranged to suit clients’ needs, whether they need round table, banquet, boardroom, classroom or theatre style setting.
“We cater to a variety of clients including state agencies and corporate Jamaica. We have a lot of international corporate clients and government/private agency clients,” Graham-Connolly notes.
Guests with romance on their minds aren’t left out. There are two large areas for weddings — including an outdoor space.
“And of course, [there is] personalised catering packages to make a couple’s wedding day extra special,” Graham-Connolly assures.
The quality of service offered has earned the property bragging rights as, according to her, it’s the “only recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award in Kingston”.
According to the AAA Diamond’s website, each year hotels are subjected to unscheduled inspections by trained experts who have a “detailed look at a property’s quality, cleanliness and condition”. They evaluate the guest experience with consistent, objective criteria to provide them with an unbiased review. The four diamond award is given to hotels across the world with “upscale style and amenities, enhanced with the right touch of service.”
In addition to that nod of international approval, the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel also has a few local awards under its belt. These include the Jamaica Observer Outstanding Service Award and the Jamaica Observer Best Restaurant of the Year Award for its Regency Room.
These achievements, a testimony of the hotel’s quality of service, have attracted clients from across the world. Though the onset of the novel coronavirus pandemic impacted the hotel’s service, Terra Nova has reportedly bounced back and has now returned to normal operations. A big part of that is providing guests with that personal touch that keeps them coming back.
“We offer personalised services for all events. Our banquet sales manager is the recipient of the Observer Chairman’s Award of Excellence which speaks a lot for the standard that is expected for MICE,” says Graham-Connolly.
