Ever since opening its doors in 2019, AC Hotel Kingston has made an impact on the meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) market. And it has no intention of letting up.
“We are one of the biggest hotel-based event venues in Jamaica. Designed to cater to small and large groups, our six cutting-edge indoor facilities offer collaborative or formal layouts, integrated technologies, blackout facilities for presentations, and ergonomic seating,” says the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Shellie-Ann Norton.
Located just 10 miles from the busy Norman Manley International Airport, AC Hotel Kingston sits on six impeccably manicured acres of lush greenery within New Kingston’s business hub. The hotel has hosted everything from conferences for local, regional, and international clients to trade shows and weddings.
“All of our meeting spaces are located on the ground floor, providing curbside drop-off and easy access to our three-storey parking facility that can accommodate 400 parking spaces. Our diverse venue options include manicured outdoor facilities for corporate groups and social events, such as rooftop space with a breathtaking view of the city,” says Norton.

The AC Hotel Kingston has a total event space of 2,846 square metres, with its largest space, Rock Steady, able to hold 900. For banquet-style wedding receptions, it can comfortably hold 600 guests. The tech-forward venue offers the bride and groom a chance to effortlessly share romantic photographs or memorable videos during their event. The newly-weds are also encouraged to spend the night in one of the hotel’s luxurious rooms and wake up just in time for breakfast or brunch at the AC Kitchen and Lounge. When it’s time for baby’s baptism or first communion, they can always return to the AC Hotel Kingston. They do those events as well.
Meanwhile, those seeking the perfect venue to host a business meeting or conference have not been left out either. The hotel’s modern audio-visual equipment enhances any presentation and, when it’s time for meals, menus can be customised to suit any group’s needs.
At AC Hotel Kingston, it’s all about the guests, says Norton.
“Every moment has been designed, refined, crafted, and considered to create an elegant and unobtrusive guest experience that lets guests maximise enjoyment and efficiency. Each AC Hotel features purposefully designed signature spaces that strike the perfect balance of form and function. Our contemporary, collaborative spaces have all been designed with maximum comfort and function in mind. AC Hotel Kingston has disrupted the city’s service space and solidified its position as a leader in the category,” she tells LetsTravelCaribbean.com
As with other properties integrally involved with the MICE space, AC Hotel Kingston has had to adapt to the changes brought on by COVID-19.
“As we adjust to a new normal, business has increased as persons and face-to-face interactions increase. There has also been a shift in trend to hybrid meetings, which allow face-to-face and online interactions,” says Norton.
The hotel is looking forward to many more years of dazzling its guests and winning more awards.
In 2020, World Travel Awards named AC Hotel Kingston the Caribbean’s Leading New Hotel. Its AC Lounge has been recognised by the Jamaica Observer’s Table Talk Food Awards for Best Wine/Cocktail Experience and the property is currently nominated in the categories of Jamaica’s Leading Business Hotel and Jamaica’s Leading Hotel.
