Marguerites Seafood by the Sea, one of Montego Bay’s most talked about fine-dining restaurant, has received the prestigious Wine Spectator Award for 2022.

This is the seventh time it has won the award. Chairman and CEO of Margaritaville Caribbean Group, which owns and operates Marguerites Seafood by the Sea Restaurant, Ian Dear is very proud of this achievement.

“We are delighted and extremely honoured to again receive the prestigious Wine Spectator Award. This award is like the ‘Oscars for wines’ and is an indication of Marguerites’ commitment to offering and maintaining a diverse selection of high-quality wines that can be paired with our exceptional cuisine,” Dear told the Jamaica Observer’s LetsTravelCaribbean.com.

He commended his “hard-working team” at Marguerites Seafood by the Sea for their continued efforts in ensuring that the restaurant exceeds diners’ expectations.

“Wine Spectator is the world’s leading authority on wines and for Marguerites to be one of the 3,169 winners from 50 states and 70 countries for 2022 is a remarkable achievement. A big thank you to our hard-working team for their dedication in making this possible,” Dear stated.

The internationally-based award recognises restaurants with extensive wine lists of at least 90 selections. To be considered, each restaurant must also present a well-chosen assortment of quality wine producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Established in 1981 by Wine Spectator magazine, the award has honoured nearly 3,200 restaurants around the world for their wine programmes this year alone.

Located on Montego Bay’s Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, Marguerites Seafood by the Sea has an on-site climate-controlled cellar that boasts a collection of more than 1,200 bottles of red, white, and sparkling wines carefully selected to work in harmony with the cuisine. The venue offers a romantic five-star al fresco dining experience coupled with an incredible breathtaking view of the Jamaican sunset. The restaurant specialises in fresh seafood and creatively prepared entrées.

With an unparalleled level of service, the elegant and sophisticated Almond Terrace has attracted an eclectic clientèle of locals, international visitors, celebrities, and politicians. Its signature offerings of freshly caught seafood, tableside Caesar salad presentation, and internationally honoured wine selection welcomes guests who appreciate an unparalleled level of service, world-class cuisine, and an award-winning standard of excellence.

Marguerites is the only restaurant in Jamaica to hold both the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award.
