Just in time for summer, Frontier Airlines will add four new routes to the Caribbean. They will all be out of Tampa.
As of June 23 the discount carrier will operate daily, year-round service to San Juan, competing against the daily service of Southwest, JetBlue and Spirit, Cirium flight schedule data shows.
Being the first to enter, it has no immediate competitors in the other three new routes — Tampa to Montego Bay in Jamaica, along with Santo Domingo and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The carrier’s seasonal, twice-weekly Montego Bay service begins June 24 and will run through Labour Day. Twice-weekly flights from Tampa to Santo Domingo will begin June 30. Weekly Saturday service to Punta Cana will launch July 2.
