Treasure Beach is set to celebrate Jamaica’s 60th Anniversary of Independence — on Saturday, August 6th — with a fun day, chock-full of activities for locals and international visitors alike.

The day begins at 9:00 am with a boat parade launching in Fort Charles. Get set to cheer on the 30-boat extravaganza from vantage points along the scenic, sea route, including Fort Charles, Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay, Old Wharf, Great Bay, and Calabash Bay. Following the landing of the boats in Calabash Bay, a marching band will lead the festive group on a street parade to the Breds Treasure Beach Sports Park.

A star-filled sports festival is next on the agenda, featuring Universe Boss, cricket superstar Chris Gayle. Of course, local favourites, the Treasure Beach All Stars, will also be in attendance, primed and ready to go. As a special treat, House of Lords & Commons CC, the UK parliamentary cricket team, will be flown to Jamaica by Virgin Atlantic, just for the celebration, by the Jamaica Tourist Board.

After the full day of sports, stars and music at Breds, the celebration continues with a concert and fireworks at Jack Sprat, Treasure Beach.

Here’s the schedule:-

9:00 am — Boat Parade

30 boats, flying two large Jamaican flags each, will make their way along the South Coast route from Fort Charles to Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay, Old Wharf, Great Bay, and ending at Calabash Bay.

11:00 am — Street Parade
Marching band will lead hundreds of locals and visitors of all ages carrying small Jamaican flags from Calabash Bay, where boats will end parade, to Treasure Beach Sports Park

12 noon — Sports Festival
