A Long and Lasting Love

The theme: modern rustic. The music: Outkast meets Sade… and a bit of Drake

There was nothing extraordinary about their initial encounter… or so it appeared. Philanthropist and non-profit founder Brian Booker met head of e-commerce merchandising Jennifer Prudhome during their college years. Their friendship blossomed into love and a romantic proposal on March 23, 2016 during a Southeast Asia getaway. Read on for details on the modern rustic wedding celebration.

The newly-weds share a kiss

The ceremony

The exchange of vows took place on the lawns at Mais Oui Tennis and Spa Villa, Discovery Bay, where the theme was modern rustic. Dionne Waugh from Bridal Dreams Jamaica used shades of ivory, purple, champagne and rose gold to decorate the area. To the strains of Outkast’s Prototype the bridesmaids made their way up the aisle dressed in Grecian one-shoulder draped gowns by Weddington Way and ruffled off-the-shoulder gowns by Revelry. They were escorted by the groomsmen who wore beige suits by Jos A Bank and purple bow ties.

Jennifer is stunning in an opulent silk fit-and-flare wedding gown featuring dramatic organza ruffles to offset the structured, hand-beaded Swarovski crystalline bodice from Mon Amie Bridal, Newport Beach, California.

There was hardly a dry eye as Huldah Prudhome proudly walked his daughter up the aisle to the strains of Sade’s Cherish The Day. Jennifer looked gorgeous in an opulent, silk fit-and-flare wedding gown featuring dramatic organza ruffles to offset the structured, hand-beaded Swarovski crystalline bodice. At the altar stood the handsome bridegroom, dressed in a Palm Beach ivory suit with statement embossed and purple velvet loafers. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Damian Austin.

The reception

Waugh and Tai Flora Luxe incorporated a melange of florals and greenery including palms, hydrangeas, orchids, and beautiful ivory lanterns capped in rose gold to further enhance the modern rustic theme with bold touches of the island tropics.

Mr and Mrs Brian Booker, enjoying a kiss, are cheered on by their bridal party

The bridal party made their entrance to Drake’s God’s Plan followed by the newly-weds who danced in to In the Middle of Things by Sango featuring Nehemiah. This was followed by the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to Daniel Caesar’s Best Part featuring HER. Post-formalities, guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal by Ocean’s 11 Catering and witnessed the cutting of the three-tiered banana rum cream, Baileys Irish Cream and red velvet wedding cake by Alesia Mighty from A Mighty Fine Thing. The newly-weds and their guests then partied the night away to a soundscape curated by DJ DaCapo.

The honeymoon followed at Meliá Braco Village, Rio Bueno District, Rio Bueno.
