Another RIU Hotel for Jamaica

Spanish hotel chain RIU will open another property in Jamaica in February 2022. Owner of RIU Hotels & Resorts, Carmen Riu Güell, discussed her plans to break ground for the new 700-room resort in the parish of Trelawny when she met with Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett at FITUR, currently underway in Madrid.

FITUR is the world’s most significant annual international travel and tourism tradeshow.

A third-generation family business, RIU Hotels & Resorts was founded in Mallorca, Spain as a small holiday firm in 1953. It is currently 49 per cent owned by TUI and run by the Riu family. The hotel chain now has six hotels with more than 3,000 rooms in Jamaica.
